Rachel Andersen is entering her third year coaching with Platform Elite. Rachel is from Lisbon, IL and attended Newark High School. Before moving to the Quad Cities, Rachel attended Judson University in Elgin, IL where she played varsity volleyball, basketball, and softball. Rachel graduated in 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in Physical Education/Health. Rachel currently teaches Physical Education at Rockridge High School in Taylor Ridge, IL. She has coached junior high at Rockridge and at the sophomore level at Rock Island Alleman.
In her free time Rachel enjoys playing in various volleyball leagues, running marathons, baking, and traveling. Rachel and her husband Eric reside in Rock Island.
Rachel is an IMPACT certified coach and member of the American Volleyball Coaches Association. In 2010 her Platform Elite 15 Red team won 1st place at the Sterling (Westwood) Invitational and had multiple 2nd place finishes. Rachel served as the head coach of the 14 Blue team in 2011, as well as the assistant coach for the 14-1 team.
