Coaching Director, 16u Head Coach
Mike Ducey is the Coaching Director for Platform Elite Volleyball and is head coach for the 16u level for the 2012 club season. Mike has coached the 17-1 and/or 18-1 teams for the past five years. His 17-1 team qualified for USAV Nationals in Reno, NV in 2010. Mike was voted Outstanding Male Coach for the Iowa Region in 2008.
Prior to Platform Mike coached Moline Juniors 17u team in 2006 and their 16u team in 2001. From 2001 to 2005 Mike was the assistant varsity coach and head sophomore coach at Moline High School. In 2004 his record with the sophomores was 30-2 and in 2005 in was 27-6.
Before coaching at Moline, Mike coached at his alma mater, Graceland University. He was the junior varsity head coach in 1998 and 1999. In 2000 he was the varsity first assistant and was in charge of blocking and defense.
Mike attended and played varsity volleyball at Graceland University. He was named to the First Team All American in 1999 for the NIRSA. His Graceland teams finished first in the country in 1998, 2nd in 1999 and third in 2001.
Mike has played on a AA men’s volleyball team called Buffalo Club. In 2005 Buffalo Club placed second at the USA Open Volleyball Championships and Mike was selected to the All Tournament Team. His team won the championship in 2006 and placed fourth in 2007.
Mike is a home loan consultant for Cherry Creek Mortgage.
Mike is married to Stefanie, who is also the 16u assistant coach, and they have two sons, Collin and Nolan. The Ducey family resides in Moline, Illinois.
