13-1 Assistant Coach
cpatel1122@gmail.comCoach Chirag “Cheech” Patel is entering his second season with Platform Elite. Last year he was the 13-1 assistant coach. Cheech played high school volleyball at Maine East in Park Ridge, IL playing outside and middle. After graduation from Maine East High School, he played for The University of Iowa volleyball team and graduated in May 2008 with a BA in Communications and Business. During his collegiate career coach Patel played right side, outside, defensive specialist, and libero.
While studying abroad at Universidad de Alicante in Spain he continued his playing career. He remains active as a volleyball player, including beach volleyball. He is involved in USAV and currently plays at the A/AA level. Cheech mainly plays outside, rightside, and libero.
In the 2009-2010 season, he coached for Energy Volleyball Club in Niles, IL. Cheech coached three teams and was involved with two others as a assistant when he coached for Energy VBC. He moved to Davenport in June 2010 due to receiving a job in Rock Island. His experience ranges from ages 12u through 17u.
